Eind 2019 kocht DENC-STUDIO een kantoorloft in LOODS23. Ons architectenkantoor ligt reeds van bij haar start in de Muide in Gent en kende al diverse adressen. Toen de overstap naar een groter kantoor zich opnieuw opdwong, was de keuze voor de naastliggende loods snel gemaakt. Zo bleef de bereikbaarheid voor de medewerkers en opdrachtgevers verzekerd. De loods werd initieel ingezet als overslagzone voor katoen; vandaag vinden we er woon- en werklofts. De architectuur van het huidige casco is van de hand van Compagnie O; de invulling gebeurde door DENC!-STUDIO. Met de instap in het reconversieproject bevestigt DENC!-STUDIO haar trouw aan de Muide en haar wilskracht inzake circulair bouwen.
De vertrekbasis voor de kantoren in de loods is compact en vormefficiënt. De open vloeren zijn flexibel invulbaar door de afwezigheid van dragende wanden en dankzij de structurele opzet gekenmerkt door riante overspanningen (~8m) en vrije hoogtes (~5.2m). Pas na de aankoop van één of meerdere travées worden lichte, akoestisch en brandtechnisch performante, scheidingswanden geplaatst. Later kunnen deze ook vlot weer weg. De verkoop- en verhuurbewegingen, gekenmerkt door opsplitsing of uit samenvoegingen, bewijzen dat het opzet werkt.
DENC-STUDIO koos voor een omkeerbare, bio-ecologische verantwoorde FSC houtbouwinvulling. Het ontwerp is vormstabiel op zichzelf en diende niet verankerd aan de vloer. Er werden enkel droge verbindingen en droge afbouwmethodes gebruikt. Via het BIM-model zijn alle ingezette materialen traceerbaar i.f.v. later hergebruik.
De geklinknagelde structuur, deel uitmakend van de genius loci, bleef zichtbaar. Door de technieken in opbouw te voorzien maakt DENC-STUDIO ze blijvend bereikbaar, aanpasbaar, uitbreidbaar en omkeerbaar. De galva ventilatiekanalen, elektrische kabelgoten en sprinklerbuizen steken niet af tegen de galva zwaluwstaart tussenvloer, maar versterken het industrieel karakter.

- Gebruik van hout Het volledige interieur van de loods is vervaardigd in FSC hout. Dit gaat van de wanden van de vergaderboxen, bergingen en technische ruimtes, tot het meubilair van de opbergkasten en werkplekken. Specifiek zijn de vloeropbouw van de eetruimte en de trap. Beide zijn gemaakt uit volledige en massief houten balken met droge verbindingen, een circulaire opbouw i.f.v. mogelijk later hergebruik.
