Een uitbreiding met een rieten dak [Genomineerde]

Het project heeft betrekking op de uitbreiding van een eengezinswoning om een comfortabel kantoor voor Mijnheer en een familiekamer voor het hele gezin te creëren.
De uitbreiding bevindt zich ten noorden van het bestaande huis, op een vlak stuk tuin dat weinig gebruikt wordt omdat het in de schaduw ligt. Dit is de meest voor de hand liggende locatie als je veranderingen aan de bestaande volumes en het terrein tot een minimum wilt beperken, terwijl je profiteert van het zuidelijke aspect en het uitzicht over de tuin. De uitbreiding is loodrecht gebouwd ten opzichte van het hoofdvolume, naast het zwembad. Het is verbonden met het huis door een klein verbindingsvolume met grote ramen die uitkijken op de tuin.
De uitbreiding vormt een "L", omhelst het zwembad en vormt een scherm tussen het zwembad en de openbare ruimte, waardoor de privacy van de bewoners wordt verbeterd. Bovendien onderscheidt het project het zwembad echt ten opzichte van het huis.
Het project ligt op hetzelfde niveau als de bestaande begane grond. Hierdoor verschillen de hoogtes onder de kroonlijsten en nokken van de nieuwe volumes aanzienlijk van die van de hoofdvolumes, wat de hiërarchie tussen het huis en de nieuwe uitbreiding bevestigt. Er werd gekozen voor een rieten dakbedekking om de uitbreiding duidelijk te onderscheiden van het bestaande gebouw en om elke vergelijking tussen het bestaande en het nieuwe te vermijden. De architectuur werd verzacht door een poëtische toets toe te voegen.
De vrij lage kroonlijsthoogte is afgestemd op die van de ramen, die op hun beurt zijn afgestemd op de ramen van de bestaande achtergevel.
Het interieur maakt gebruik van het volledige volume, wat deze nieuwe ruimte een "uitzonderlijk" karakter geeft.
De materialen gekozen voor de uitbreiding contrasteren met het bestaande huis. Gebrand hout op de gevel, verticaal gelegd. Metaal en helder glas voor de grote ramen. Riet op het dak.

  • Gebruik van hout De uitbreiding is ontworpen en gebouwd met houtskeletbouw, overdekt met een traditioneel, eiken gebinte dat bekleed is met planchetten in gewitte spar. De dakisolatie is van het type sarking in houtwol. De gevels zijn bekleed met “Shou sugi ban” of gebrand hout.
